Alessandra Ambrosio: Always Picture Perfect

Don’t you ever wish you didn’t have a bad angle? I do. And I envy supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio because even when she’s not modeling, she always takes good pictures.

She’s the only model I’ve seen so far who has managed to look good, and I mean picture perfect good, even when the shots were candid (sorry Giselle, you didn’t make the cut). It’s like her face and movements were naturally meant for the camera. Ok, I’m rambling here, but just take a look at this shot:

That’s a candid shot, but she looks like she’s shooting for some cell phone ad campaign, right? She was spotted in New York last April by photogs and they couldn’t get enough of her. I understand why.

Now the outfit is nothing special; just a loose tank, a cardi, and jeans. But she looks so good and I know why. Apart from her good looks and supermodel frame, that touch of purple scarf did the trick. It spruced her up and gave her casual appearance a more glamorous appeal. Of course, the sunglasses did great in adding coolness into the equation as well.

I can never look like Alessandra, but at least I can copy her style…and fortunately for me, this one is an easy feat to pull off. Here’s what I’ll wear to make this look uniquely mine.

The American Idol runner-up kept himself warm with a wool wrap as he exited the venue where he promoted his album. Now tell me, how often do you see a guy wear a wrap while walking on the street?

But then again, that’s Adam Lambert, a guy who wears eyeliners.

Now sexual orientation aside, I do think a guy should be allowed to cover himself with a wrap if he wants to. I mean there’s no point in worrying whether it looks silly or not if you’re already freezing, right?

Wool made wraps and scarves are great for keeping warm when the weather is extra cold, especially during winter. You can wrap it around you like the way Adam did, or wrap it around your neck like a scarf.

Now although it is spring, you can actually still wear wool wraps or scarves but choose the thinner and lighter ones such as the items I’ve posted below.

So how much does Jessica Alba love wearing the scarf? How about if I just let the photos below tell you?

Jessica simply loves wearing the scarf, whether its winter or spring. And she sure knows what type of scarf to use to keep herself fashionable.

The last one is the latest photo taken of her. It was captured this month, while she and Honor were lunching together.

As you can see, Jessica wore a thin and light scarf that was very appropriate for the spring weather.

Nicole Richie’s Traffic School Style: Red Scarf and Oxfords

Looks like the temperature in California went down a few notches because Nicole Richie was seen dressed like it was winter as she left another traffic school class last March 31. The socialite-cum-fashionista was also complaining about her allergies, another strong sign of a cold weather.

Nicole’s traffic school outfit consisted mostly of black and gray, including her bag and oxfords shoes; but she brightened up the whole monochromatic look with a red knitted scarf. Nice touch Nicole!

Wearing a bright or colorful scarf is a great way to give your boring, colorless look some accent. Of course, you do have to make sure that you’re wearing the right color.

If you’re wearing an outfit with colors and prints, then make sure your scarf is toned down and not too busy nor too bright. Otherwise, you will have too many accents and you will end up looking like a Christmas tree.

I love Orlando Bloom to the bone. The first time I saw him was as Legolas, and being a Lord of the Rings fan, I was immediately smitten with the character and the actor who fit the role perfectly.

For those who keep a watchful eye on him, you may notice how he often wears a scarf around his neck.

Some actually think he looks silly in it, especially when it does not go well with the outfit – case in point, the picture of him above with Miranda Kerr. But not many people know that he wears it more for function rather than fashion.

As a daredevil, Orlando fell off a roof (about three stories high) when he was young and they had to fix his back and put a steel rod in it. It was an accident that almost put him in a wheelchair, but thanks to God and science, he was able to walk again.

With that steel rod in his back, he is more sensitive to cold temperature; so to keep himself warm, he puts a scarf around his neck.

So although on certain occasions, the scarf may not be the best accessory for him to wear, he still looks handsome and beautiful as he is without it. Well, at least, to me he is.

On another note, let’s learn from Orlando. A scarf is a great accessory to use for keeping warm. In fact, it is a good alternative to the light sweater. And you don’t have to wear it all the time, only when you need to.

Besides, a good piece of scarf always gives your look an immediate upgrade. So it is always best to invest in a few pieces.
