Celebrity Favorite: Matta Dupatta Scarves

Here’s another celebrity favorite more known for being Kim Kardashian’s bikini wrap – Matta Dupatta Scarves. They’re soft, large (100 x 200 cm), and handwoven scarves made of cotton and silk in many many colors. But what makes them really different from other scarves are those pom pom balls surrounding each piece. Instead of the usual fringes, Matta Dupatta scarves have their pom pom balls.

Here’s a look at some of the celebrities spotted using a Matta Dupatta, starting with Kim of course:

Jennifer Aniston in Matta Dupatta

What do you think of this very popular scarf? Are you digging its pom pom balls? Matta Dupatta scarves and its many colors are currently available at Singer22.com. You can get yourself a piece for US$175; the Ombre version will cost you US$10 more.

Ever the busy girl, Leighton Meester was spotted shooting another scene for Gossip Girl in New York yesterday (February 18). Her alter ego, Blair Waldorf, was looking luxe as usual in a cream Milly jacket matched with an exotic looking purse from Louis Vuitton. But the highlight in Blair’s outfit was the beautiful green scarf around her neck; such a fabulous touch of color to brighten up the neutral outfit, don’t you think?

According to sources, that scarf is by Oscar De La Renta. Now we all know those are quite expensive. A piece of scarf from the premiere label can cost you almost US$500. If you can afford it, you can shop for it at Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf. Some suggestions for you:

Oscar De La Renta Henry Print Scarf, US$450

(modal/cashmere mix, exclusively printed)

Oscar De La Renta Crinkled Heart Print Scarf, US$490

(for pre-order;  modal/cashmere mix)

If you copy Blair’s look to a T, you’ll be spending more than US$2000 because the Milly jacket alone is already US$651, and that Louis Vuitton bag is might pricey as well. Most of us can’t even begin to spend US$400 on a piece of scarf so stealing her style for much less is the ONLY option. To grab this Queen B’s luxe New York get-up, make it your own by changing the colorway to basic black, but keep the green scarf as your accent. Here are the pieces to grab:
