4 More Ways to Wear the Scarf as a Hair or Head Accessory

Did you enjoy reading our feature on Amy Winehouse and how she wears her scarf? Well, if you did, then check out our guide today because we’re going to show you 4 fun ways you can wear the scarf as a hair or head accessory. Check out these celebs and their scarves:

# 1 The Headband

Wear it with a pony or with your hair down. Let the ends hang loose along with your hair. For this you will need a longer but thinner scarf (narrower, about 6 to 12 inches)

Blake Lively as Serena Van Der Woodsen and Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl Season 2

# 2 The Hippie

Wear it like a hippie would! Tie it around and over the head and forehead. If you want the ends to hang loose, get a long scarf. Otherwise, you can stick with the compact square scarf

 # 3 The Head Wrap

As a scarf bun as seen on JLo. Simply put the scarf over your head, twist it along with your hair (like you’re creating a bun), than tuck the ends under.

For this one, use a wider scarf (about 18 inches wide) with some stretch in it.

# 4 Lucille Ball Style

Wear ala Lucille Ball. This one is very similar to the way Amy Winehouse wore it, except that the scarf is not twisted and the hair is up.

To get any of these looks, simply shop for scarves at Zappos or Shopbop. Remember, go with long, narrow scarves if you want to work the headband or Lucille Ball styles. For the head wrap look, best to work with stretchable pieces like the ones below:
